Malaga and Mijas, Spain

I almost left out a couple of ports(Malaga and Valencia) from our cruise in April! Malaga, Spain was our fourth port and day thirteen of the cruise. Malaga, Spain is the second largest port in Spain and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. We didn't see much of Malaga because we took a tour to the Village of Mijas.Malaga port.

The Village of Mijas or the "white town." The buildings are "white washed" which is a traditional treatment to the exterior of the buildings to reflect the sun and keep the interiors cool.

Taxi for the tourists.

Here is the traditional white washing being done.

Mijas bullring.

El Santuario de la Virgen de la Pena. A shrine that dates back to 1586.

I love the white buildings and how they stand out in the woodland hills..

A view from the village.
